NNS in Japan

Naturally Nova Scotia Health Products Japan (NNSJ) has been manufacturing products from our lines for the Japanese consumer for nearly 10 years. It was actually one of the company’s first major markets!

Currently, our products are offered mainly on the Japanese TV shopping channel, Jupiter Shop Channel, which airs live broadcasts for various products 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our Berry Beauty Program which is a seven day program that assists in resetting our diet has been the #1 seller in the Health and Beauty division since its introduction in December of 2010.

Each product that is introduced to the Japanese markets is very well received as the Japanese people are very interested in products that are beneficial to their health. That being said, there are still relatively few natural foods and supplements on the market in Japan and of course even fewer organic products and still even fewer 100% Certified Organic products. Even though there are a few health food stores, the majority of them are concentrated in the highly populated areas of the country and do not offer nationwide distribution. Because of this, we are currently working on expanding our product line and distribution routes in Japan in order to offer an even greater variety of certified organic products to the Japanese markets in ways that are even more readily accessible by the general public.

With the recent natural disasters that have occurred in Japan there is a great need for foods and supplements that contain an abundance of nutrition and we believe that our products will play an important role in supporting the diet of the Japanese people.

Children are our Future


I am lucky enough to help Naturally Nova Scotia begin their new marketing campaign: “Make the Real Organic Choice”, which we hope will help educate consumers on the truth behind product certification claims. Educating adults has never been an easy task because, well, we are set in our ways and VERY busy. This brings me to my story…

Children are our future: Since I am a new mother to three stepchildren (ages 13, 15 and 17) I am constantly amazed at how much things have changed since I was their age...
...Rather than walk across the street to ask their friend to play they text them.
...Rather than have a phone conversation they Skype so they can have a video chat.
...Rather than play a game of tennis or ping pong they play wii.

Yet when they get a sore throat or cough rather than drink a sugary cough syrup their favorite remedy is our Echinacea spray.
And, when I see them decide on what snack they should have by reading a nutritional panel and commenting that they just ate too much sugar and salt during the day and opt for an apple, I know things will be o.k.


I guess there is hope.
